Own the room with "Amphibious", a fiercely original contemporary painting by Australian artist Pez. This striking piece blends quirky abstract art with a raw, edgy pop art aesthetic to completely break the rules of traditional home decor. Crafting a bold alternative to boring gallery clichés, the artwork features unexpected textures, rebellious forms, and an unconventional style. "Amphibious" explores the friction between mid-century optimism and modern consumer cynicism. The artwork uses a 1960s amphibious car as a visual metaphor for human ambition. I'm poking fun at an era when society believed technology could effortlessly conquer all, by subverting the hyper-sanitised, flawless world of vintage advertising. Mid-century marketing - or perhaps all - made/makes promises that buying into the latest innovation would unlock ultimate freedom. The artwork strips away corporate glamour to expose the underlying absurdity of these consumer promises.

With 10 years in the UK, working in the television industry as a camera operator and editor I turned my hand to graphic design after returning to Australia. These backgrounds have informed both my narrative and technical approach. I use ink, markers, conventional and airbrush techniques, I strive to engage with a restricted palette, simplified imagery and a playful approach to common tropes and perceptions.
